Visited with the intent to challenge the consistent 5 stars. No restaurant can be that good... right? Turns out that as well as Indian cuisine, this place specialises in humble pie. Staff were outstanding. Offered full explanation of all dishes as well as choices of heat levels for each. Luckily, being British provided me with the necessary expertise to submit an accurate review of Indian food, as well as the excuse of why ‘s’ is used in place of ‘z’. Seriously, from entering until the cheque (), we could not identify any room for improvement. Food quality was exceptional and the portion sizes were very reasonable. For seasoned Indian cuisine connoisseurs, this is the place. For beginners, this place will get you hooked. 5 well deserved stars!

Great food! Went for lunch and found my new favorite restaurant. The chili garlic fried rice with chicken is a must! I got the eggplant curry and my son did the curry bowl. The lentils were amazing! Garlic naan was perfect. We like spicy and requested our entrees as such - it was the perfect level. The Mango lassi is great to cool down the heat. Authentic flavors and good prices! 10/10

I’m so happy to have an Indian restaurant downtown! We had the saag paneer, lamb vindaloo and garlic naan with a mango lassi and a strawberry guava mint mocktail. They JUST opened so they are still getting the hang of things but so far, so good. They have a good sized menu so I’m excited to try everything soon! The meat inside the lamb vindaloo was very good. The saag wala is blended fully to be more like a sauce than some places that will leave more texture from the greens. I liked the naan They have booth seating, bar, high tops and low tables with comfortable seats. I will come back for lunch and update my review soon :)

Simha Indian Kitchen & Bar is a new restaurant in downtown Providence. It is where the Barnaby’s used to be located, so it retains some of the previous set-up. The restaurant is open and has an upscale Indian vibe. It was a nice spot for a date night The menu has a lot of offerings, even some fusion dishes that sounded really interesting. They also had a specials menu. The drinks list was extensive; their cocktails are creative, including their mocktails too. I tried the lychee martini which was good and not sweet which I enjoyed—would have liked a little more lychee flavor though. My husband got one of the mocktails which was refreshing. We tried a bunch of appetizers (wings, Indian fries, and kebab) as well as the baingan bharta which is a delicious eggplant dish. It came with rice. Spice level was good. Next time we want to try more entrees. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They checked in on us often and made sure our water glasses were always filled. Prices are reasonable. We definitely plan to return to try more items!

What a wonderful experience here at Simha. The restaurant itself is beautiful, I love the wooden floors and cieling. The serves here are courteous, welcoming, and were willing to go over their expansive but impressive menu with us. We ordered the mango lemonade which was just as good as a lassi along with a masala chai for drinks. For an appetizer we had the samosa chaat which tasted just like an Indian plate of nachos. The addition of pomegranate seeds was thoughtful and added a burst of sweet flavor. For our meals we had the fish curry, chicken saag, and garlic naan. The meals come with rice as well. Everything tasted delicious, fresh, and the portion sizes were great. Not large but enough to leave full. I highly recommend Simha- it’s definitely my new favorite Indian restaurant and I’m so excited to one day check out their fusion options. For a new restaurant they’ve done an amazing job!

Today, I enjoyed my first visit to Simha in Providence. The food is delicious here! My wife and I got two dishes, a starter, two cups of chai tea, a basket of naan, dessert (photo included), and shared all of it together. Everything was superb. The sauces were rich and perfectly spiced to our request. The restaurant is very comfortable, well-decorated, and well-lit. The service is polite, helpful, and attentive. I will 100% come back for another meal. Thank you, Simha—see you soon!

Came here for lunch before a show at the PPAC. It was during their soft opening, so it wasn't very busy. The food, service, and atmosphere were all elite. Our server was also the bartender, and he even made us some drinks to try that weren't on the menu. We are looking forward to going back!

My husband and I had lunch, menu has been designed very well, the items we ordered were better than expected, taste was perfect, naans were freshly made, service was good, overall a very good experience. Will certainly visit again.
